An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Team as the Deputy Quality Lead in our busy Genomics Laboratory.
The East Genomics Laboratory Hub is looking to recruit a Band 6 Deputy Quality Lead, to support the Quality Team and the laboratory to maintain the quality management system and accreditation to ISO 15189.
You will work closely with the Quality Team, laboratory staff, and colleagues at all levels, so strong communication and a high level of organisational skills are required. A keen eye for detail, willingness to learn and the ability to prioritise and multi-task are required to ensure effective and efficiently delivery of the quality management system and the associated duties of the Deputy Quality Lead role. Previous experience of working with a quality management system and management of risk is highly desirable.
The Genomics Laboratory is part of the East NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub. This is one of seven Genomic Hubs established to provide the new National Genomic Medicine Service for NHS England, led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and working with Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester.
Hours are currently within laboratory opening hours of 8am to 6pm, with the ability to work flexibly from home and onsite.
Main duties of the job
1. Proactive engagement with and management of quality and risk activities associated with the quality management system and the Quality Team.
2. Conducting audits, risk assessments and active involvement in continued quality improvement.
3. Communicate with a wide variety of staff.
4. Computer manipulation and production of data for reports and meetings.
