The Radiotherapy Department currently has opportunities for Band 5 Radiographers, ideal for anyone wishing to develop both personally and professionally in a busy and forward thinking Department.

You will work on a vibrant hospital campus with a friendly community feel. We have excellent facilities to practice your skills and abilities to support your career pathway and development. Our values support the delivery of outstanding care. We have a fully electronic patient record system that is improving health-care quality, transforming services and improving patient safety and clinical outcomes.

You must be HCPC registered, possess a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent and be fully flexible with shift requirements. Due to the variable nature of the work, you will be required to cover early and late shifts and possible weekend shifts and on-call as appropriate.

We currently have  two Elekta linear accelerators, two Radixact Tomotherapy units and 2 Varians, with dedicated SRS platforms.

We also offer Gynae HDR and superficial treatments.

Our other 2 bunkers are in the middle of having 2 new Varian Linacs installed, to be clinical by September 2024.

All are interfaced with Mosaiq in a paperless environment.

The pre-treatment section comprises of two Canon wide bore CT scanners and our Physics department uses Raystation treatment planning system.

You will rotate through treatment and pre-treatment areas.

To work within a team of Radiographers to provide accurate and safe planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment.

To work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) in the total care of patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment.

To give support and advice to patients and their carers throughout the course of radiotherapy treatment.

To ensure the highest standard of care is provided at all times within the resources available.

  • Health and Care Professions Council registration
  • IELTS Level 7 (for those applying internationally)

  • Knowledge of and use of different information sources
  • Knowledge and application of national regulations relating to ionising radiation for medical exposure (IR(ME)R)
  • Knowledge and application of regulations related to obtaining informed consent
