Senior Admission Booking Coordinator

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Senior Admissions Coordinator to join our friendly Trauma and Orthopaedics team.

You will be responsible for the coordinating of elective admissions working closely with both external and internal providers.

The service are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, you should possess an engaging and friendly personality and telephone manner, always looking to go the extra mile for our patients and uphold our values of kind, safe and excellent at all times. Excellent communication, both verbal and written is essential.

You must be capable of working independently while exercising personal initiative and able to organize your work load to meet the changes in demand within the service.

Knowledge is desirable but training all aspects of the role will be given.

Some Flexible working and occasional home working is available for this role. 

Main duties of the job

You will manage Surgery waiting and theatre lists for local and general anaesthetic through responsibility for the receipt, registration and booking of all patients across surgical services within the ATC in line with Trust Policies and Procedures and national targets, paying particular attention to the 18 week Referral to Treatment targets. To work with Clinical teams to ensure patients are being booked in line with local policies for urgent and routine surgery.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE A - C or NVQ level 2/3 Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent.
  • Typing qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Specific technical/professional qualification.

  • Team leader/management qualification.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a busy clerical/office environment or reception service.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks.
