Job overview
We are looking for innovative Critical Care nurses to join our Critical Care Practice Development & Education Team for one permanent and one 12-month fixed term/secondment.
You must have excellent clinical and communication skills.
As a Practice Development Nurse you must be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing the service and staff, improving the patient experience and show evidence of clinical leadership. You will work predominantly in the Neuro Critical Care Unit with the expectation to support all Critical Care Units to facilitate education, training, research and professional development for all staff through formal and informal teaching.

Facilitate learning within the clinical team and provide professional training and development of staff through formal and informal teaching across Critical Care.

A welcome subsidy of £1000 is available to all Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Midwives, ODPs and Radiographers taking up substantive employment with the Trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RGN with current registration.
- Relevant recognised post registration Critical Care qualification: 60 credit Critical Care Course with completion of Step 2 and 3s competencies – or equivalent
- Evidence of continued development.
Desirable criteria
- Teaching/assessing qualification.
- Mentorship or Practice Supervisor & Assessor qualification.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant Band 5 Critical Care experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a variety of acute care areas.
- Previous practice development experience.
- Project management experience.
- Experience of lecturing/presenting.
Knowledge

- Awarenes of budgetry constraints related to education in Critical Care.
