We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated part-time administrator to be part of a dynamic administration team. This particular role is within the Older Peoples Mental Health team and will be supporting the nurses and Psychiatrists.

The admin team strive to ensure the provision of a professional and competent service, as well as offering excellent customer care to patients, families and colleagues. We aim to do so by ensuring professional leadership, excellent training and development opportunities for admin staff.

Start date 2nd September 2024.

May involve driving to other base sites when necessary, therefore a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient, effective and timely administrative support for the mental health clinical team. Such support will include liaison with partner agencies, patients, carers, external referrers, Trust staff and team and Admin colleagues to ensure effective communication and administrative systems are maintained for the receipt and onward delivery of all referrals for all Divisions.

  • Word processing of all forms of correspondence, reports and summaries that are required by the team.
  • Manage all calls in a controlled and professional manner.
  • Deal with difficult callers in a calm and professional manner.
  • Maintain filing in electronic records, ensuring that it is kept up to date at all times. In accordance with Trust procedures, track and receive notes in a timely manner.
  • To register referrals, maintain administration resulting from clinics, including appointment bookings and cancellations.
  • To provide operational support for clinical letters / correspondence using necessary computerised systems.
  • To provide administrative support to clinical staff including consultant psychiatrists.

Education/Qualifications

  • Educated to GCE/GCSE standard.
  • Good command of written English
  • RSA stage II/NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent

  • Previous experience of working in an NHS Office
