Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Care Group for a Patient Pathway Supervisor in Paediatrics.
This is a permanent position, 37.5 full-time hours working across both Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospital.
The post holder will have responsibility for supporting patients through their clinical pathway to ensure prompt treatment, no unnecessary delay and confusion, and to enable a positive and reassuring care experience.
The postholder will ensure that every effort is taken to the improve quality of communication, and work proactively to improve access to information and response to enquiries for all patients who use the service.
Main duties of the job
To alert the service and respond to any impending capacity issues within the acute paediatric services.
To identify opportunities for additional clinical activity where activity is not available in line with consultant job plan. To review capacity and utilisation of all paediatric clinics.
Working with rota coordinator to produce clinics data to ensure all clinical activity is being utilised.
The key functions of the post are ensuring high quality patient experience and assisting service development to maintain this.
The role requires close liaison with other managers and medical staff, and line management for the team of booking coordinators

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
- General education to ‘A’ level or equivalent
- Knowledge of full range of administrative and organisational policies and procedures acquired through training or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Referral to treatment training
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- At least 1 year’s NHS experience
- Experience of managing 18 week patient pathway
- Proven experience at supervisory level
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Excellent IT skills: Outlook, Word, Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets)
