Job overview

The post holder will play a key role in validating, monitoring and managing patient pathways, to ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their pathway, from referral to treatment, as well as providing excellent administration support primarily, but not limited to the Targeted Lung Health Check Service. This service has complex pathways; therefore accuracy and organisation are key. 

Successful candidates will be required to manage several pathways within the department by providing high quality information and analytical support to the division.

Main duties of the job

  • Support nursing staff to ensure that all patients on the Targeted Lung Health Check pathway are actively managed from an administrative perspective.
  • Merging, rectifying, managing and stopping pathways in accordance with guidelines.
  • Manage the implementation of SOPs, administrative systems, and administrative service improvement, including new technology for the service.
  • Ensure quality of administrative services provided to patients and staff by the admin team
  • Resolve problems, escalating to the Deputy Service Manager where necessary
  • Undertake patient pathway co-ordinator functions such as booking/scheduling and dealing with pathway enquiries.
  • To support validation and data quality standards within the Trust, raising any data quality issues with the relevant staff.

  • Good level of general education at GCSE level (to include English and Mathematics) and NVQ3 or equivalent standard of further education
