Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Postgraduate Medical Education Team. 

To provide a high-quality reception service and administrative support, predominately at the Education Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with the possibility of assisting at Wycombe or Amersham Hospitals should the need arise. The post-holder will assist with the smooth running of the centre, by demonstrating a flexible approach to the role and will be expected to work alongside all members of the Education, Learning and Development Team.

The post holder will occasionally be required to work across hospital sites and attend external venues for meetings.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is organised and have a positive and friendly attitude.

Due to the main intake of doctors to the Trust occurring at the beginning of August annual leave may not be granted around this period. Please speak to the Medical Education Manager for clarification.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as centre receptionist, answering queries by phone, in person or by email providing clear consistent advice and guidance as required.
  • Creating photo ID’s and dealing with access issues for all staff members.
  • Provide high level administrative support for the delivery of the foundation training and teaching in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT).
  • Be proactive by creating and advertising the timetable for Foundation Programme teaching, liaising with speakers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure there is an accurate register of attendance at the programme of training undertaken and produce certificates of attendance from the records.
  • Promote Medical Education across a variety of social media platforms
  • Design, curate, and publish the bi-monthly Medical Education Newsletter, infusing it with creative content and eye-catching visuals to keep readers informed and inspired.
  • Assist in the organisation of Foundation Programme Interim Reviews (ITRs) and Annual Review of Competency and Progression (ARCPs).
  • Organise the FY1 & FY2 Clinical Skills & Simulation programme, liaising with department rota coordinators ensuring all foundation doctors attend their allocated session.
  • Book and amend training room requests in accordance with the Training Centre guidance.
