Job overview
Applicants are invited to apply for a Locally Employed Doctor post for ST1/2 equivalent in Elderly Care Medicine to commence on 5th February 2025.
This post offers the opportunity to join a well-established multi-disciplinary Geriatric Medicine team. The post holder will participate with the other team members in providing the core hospital facility for Medicine for older people (MFOP) services which is fully integrated with primary care.
This post will be mainly based at Amersham hospital with cross cover in our Multi-Disciplinary Assessment Service Unit (MuDAS) at Wycombe General Hospital and weekend on-call shifts in our Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (FSDEC) unit located at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Full support will be available to achieve various curriculum competencies and e-portfolio during the 6-month period. The post holder will also get guidance and support to work on Audit/ QI projects, teaching presentations and poster presentations.

The post holder will be required to support the junior team of the allocated speciality.

- To have regular meetings with the Educational Supervisor and have a yearly appraisal
- To be willing to travel between different sites/organisations in order to fulfil the requirements of the post

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration with the General Medical Council
- MRCP part 1
- ALS Certificate in date or ALS Certificate within 3 months of starting post
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of broad clinical skills in the management of all patients.
- 12 months training experience at FY3+ level in General and Acute medicine
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of working practices in the UK
