Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinic Coordinator  to  join our small friendly team in the Optometry Department at Bristol Eye Hospital.  You will be pivotal in delivering an excellent customer centred Core Optometry Service for patients with complex vision needs.  As the main point of contact for the Optometry Department you will also work with colleagues at UHBW as well as those external to the Trust.

About Us:

The Optometry Department at Bristol Eye Hospital is well established and integrated into the multidisciplinary environment of Bristol Eye Hospital.

The optometrists in the department are a diverse team of highly capable clinicians who work across a broad range of specialised services, including highly skilled Core Optometry.

You will have the opportunity to work with the wider Performance and Operations teams at UHBW, as well as the teams within BEH.

About You:

You will have experience of working in an administrative role, which may have included finance processes, and are used to dealing with customers.  You may also be seeking a role where you can be more interactive with patients, clinical and non-clinical professionals.

You enjoy variety in your work, work well as within a team as well as use your own initiative when required.

About the Role:

Our clinic co-ordinators help plan, organise and arrange our optometry clinics, and  provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our busy Optometry Department office.  This includes the supply of specialist contact lenses, low vison aids and spectacles for our patients, as well as the processing of invoices and vouchers, and linking with community optometrists.

The job is varied and interesting; good communication skills are extremely important because as well as interaction with other departments,  the post includes a lot of patient contact, both on the telephone and face to face. You must be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, be able to work well within a team, and be comfortable in acting on your own initiative.
