Job overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a multi skilled tradesperson with a mechanical bias and industrial experience of machine operation or process within a vibrant and progressive Estates maintenance service.

The estates management team aims to provide an excellent support service to the Trust’s assets, its patients, staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a modernising team carrying out a large range of multi skilled duties working across all core mechanical engineering skills and operating the Trusts new clinical incinerator plant / boiler plant which operates on a shift system.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic understanding of all modern general maintenance activities, be a dedicated team player and have a proven track record.

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical / Plant Engineering or Equivalent Experience
  • Fork lift and tug licence
  • A thorough background in plant machinery
  • Able to understand COSHH hazard warning and approved codes of practice, i.e. health and safety
