We are looking for positive, supportive, reliable and trustworthy individuals to join us in a new and exciting programme which will allow you to train and work across two different sectors of pharmacy – GP surgery and Hospital
You would be employed for two years on one year fixed term contracts reviewed for renewal at the end of the first year, 37.5 hours a week and will be rotating across the two different sectors to gain practical experience in the work environment, whilst also studying for the National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science and a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service skills (QCF) in the work place.. On successful completion you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician able to practice in a variety of roles within the Healthcare profession.

Main duties of the job
Train in all areas of the GP Practice and Pharmacy Department, assisting with the provision of the broad range of services provided across the Trust working under the supervision of registered Pharmacy technicians and Pharmacists.
Study to achieve a National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science and a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service skills (QCF) in the work place.
Produce a portfolio of work.
Some duties will be undertaken in the form of training exercises and competence based assessments.
Support the work of the main dispensary in the provision of an extended hour’s service.
Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians are expected to expand and broaden their skills and abilities. Nonetheless, they must operate at all times under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician, unless operating according to agreed procedures that have been approved by the PCN Lead Pharmacist, Chief Pharmacist or Pharmacy Superintendent

Qualifications - only one of the below required
Essential criteria
- GCSE Math’s C/4, English and Science(at C/4 or above) and 3 other subjects at a minimum of grade C/4 or equivalent
- OR Pharmacy Services QCF Level 2 or equivalent with current experience and hold a functional skills level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English (must meet open awards minimum credit requirements)
- OR Three ‘A’ levels, one of which is a relevant science subject and Maths C/4 (GCSE or equivalent).
- OR Degree in science or humanities and Maths C/4 (GCSE or equivalent).
