Imaging Assistants are an integral part of the Radiology Team providing a high standard of patient centered care to deliver and maintain a good patient experience.
We are looking for individuals with:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in four subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
- Experience in a caring/clerical post
- Committed to providing quality care
- Highly motivated and want to be a part of a dedicated team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong patient focus
You will become part of a professional and caring workforce delivering high standards of care to our patients, which is both challenging and rewarding.
The post will be a support role to patients undergoing tests and procedures, assisting consultants and radiographers performing radiology examinations.
The Radiology facility at New Cross Hospital is a purpose-built unit completed in 2003, with excellent facilities for patients and staff.
Our brand new community diagnostic centre (CDC) at Cannock Chase Hospital, opened in 2024 and hosts CT, MRI and Ultrasound facilities. There will be a requirement for some cross site working in this role.
Applicants must be prepared to work flexibly on a rolling 4-week rota to include early morning, evening and weekend shifts. Participation in the Bank/Statutory Holiday Rota is a requirement of this post.

- Previous health or care experience
- GCSE or equivalent in 4 subjects including maths and english language.
Desirable criteria
- Reception/admin experience
- Care Certificate
Communication skills
Essential criteria
- Good verbal and written communication skills in order to deal face to face with patients in reception areas and also on the telephone
