Job overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Officer to work within the Sexual Health Service to collect, retrieve and analyze patient data and produce key data and information reports which will help us to monitor our patient activity and performance.
We are looking for someone with advanced knowledge of excel and other computer systems and with a keen interest in data and how it can be used to support and improve health care services.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for extracting, downloading and submitting data from the Lilie/HARS database systems via agreed procedures and ensure any data errors flagged up as part of this process are resolved.
Work closely with consultants and clinical staff to reduce the occurrence of missing data and improve data quality.
To compare database information with data from clinical records and seek the advice of senior medical staff where the reasons for discrepancy cannot be identified.
To work on solutions to ensure that data coded across the service is accurate and create solutions and efficiencies in reporting requirements where possible.
To identify and create ways in which our service data can be used to look at overall service performance and analyzed to understand areas for improvement.
