Job overview
An exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Macmillan Colorectal and Stoma nursing team has opened.
This is a full time (37.5 hours) substantive post the team are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 Nurse to act as a support to patients who have had a stoma formed the successful candidate will also take the lead in delivering an on-going stoma teaching programme for the wider Trust and be involved with supporting colorectal cancer patients.
You must be a first level registered nurse with post registration experience of surgical colorectal care and have relevant continuous professional development.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will use their communication, organizational skills, knowledge, experience time management and IT skills to help the team offer a high quality specialist service, leading to better outcomes for our patients.
The post holder will have the ability to work within the established colorectal team prioritizing your own workload whilst being supported by the CNS nursing team. The post holder will work across the Sandwell and City sites, moving into MMUH in the autumn, caring for patients in the acute and outpatient setting.
The successful post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team, gaining skills in all aspects of colorectal cancer and stoma care.
The successful candidate will be provided with the necessary training and mentorship.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant clinical experience, including that as a student or unqualified nurse
Desirable criteria
- Experience with regards to stoma patients
- Surgical ward experience
- Relevant voluntary experience
- Relevant clinical experience since registration.
Qualifications

- RN ( Adult) with current NMC registration
