Podiatry Administration Assistant

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for administration assistants to work within the central Podiatry admin office based at Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre. Both fulltime and part-time posts are available. 

The central admin team provides an important and integral part of the day to day running of the Podiatry services, through a telephone booking system and administrative support to the clinical teams who are based throughout the community.

You will be a part of small team of administrators; you will be an adaptable and confident team member, who possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be resilient and enjoy working closely with a team in a demanding environment. For awareness, this post does not include home working. 

Main duties of the job

Effective communication skills are vital, as on a daily basis  you will be handling telephone calls, booking appointments, dealing with queries and passing on information to the Podiatry  Admin Team Lead, Clinical Team Leads and the Podiatry Services Lead via, email, telephone and in person.

Person specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Qualification: Maths & English to GCSE/O’ Level grade C minimum or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in relevant field (e.g. business administration, customer service, etc).

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a telephone Booking office environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively with staff of different disciplines.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Professional manner and well-motivated.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and Data protection.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with guidance available from immediate manager.
  • Able to cover for colleagues during periods of leave.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with databases and data inputting.
