Job overview
The Office of the West Midlands (OWM) is seeking a suitable qualified and experienced Band 7 Finance Officer overseeing Delegated Primary Care finance. The role will focus on Primary, Secondary and Community Dental, as well as other areas of Delegated Primary Care.
Main duties of the job
The Finance Officer will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an
effective service supporting managers and staff across the Office of the West Midlands Region to support
Primary Care and Public Health Commissioning. The post holder will ensure the delivery of high quality, safe services in line with both national and regional policy objectives.
The post holder will be required to:
• Act as the key liaison role supporting the commissioning directorate at
locality level
• Manage and actively promote system working to ensure best value for
money
• Provide necessary advice, support and challenge to organisations and
systems
• Work with systems and organisations to develop sustainable financial
strategies
• Support and manage specific projects that will have national and local
impact and engagement
• Work closely with finance colleagues and commissioning managers on
all areas of Delegated Primary Care
• Develop and deliver effective financial plans for Dental, Pharmacy and
Optometry
