Job overview

An integral key role to support the All Age Continuing Healthcare service across the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System.

The post holder will be required to work on their own initiative and demonstrate a willingness to help others and be a key member of the team, with responsibility for specifically allocated tasks. The post holder will be expected to follow set processes, prioritise their workload and demonstrate initiative in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.

Main duties of the job

  • To work within the remit of the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare.
  • Provide a confidential and sensitive administrative support to the Continuing Healthcare Team.
  • Ensure that data systems are kept up to date to allow accurate and detailed reporting capabilities, this could be for internal or external requirements.
  • Produce a range of confidential documents, including typing of letters and file notes. Maintain an effective office support system including filing photocopying and faxing and telephone cover.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information concerning patients.
  • High attention to detail and motivation required to work towards and adhere to challenging deadlines. Ability to prioritise your own workload is critical.
  • Cross cover other administrators as required.
  • Participate in objective setting and monthly 1:1 meetings with Line Manager and attend all ICB mandatory training and other training relevant to role.
  • Take every reasonable opportunity to maintain and improve professional knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with and offering advice to internal and external agencies across Birmingham and Solihull, deferring to colleagues where necessary.
  • The post holder will regularly deal with a range of routine and non-routine administrative tasks as required for an efficient and effective service.

  • Have relevant administrative experience
  • Experience of dealing with difficult phone enquiries
  • Be proficient in the use of computer packages including word processing
  • Previous experience of data inputting
  • Conversant with all components of Microsoft Office
