Hepatitis C Paediatric MDT ODN Lead Specialist Nurse (HCV pMDT ODN SN)

The purpose of this role is to provide specialist nursing support to the National Hepatitis C Paediatric Operational Delivery Network (HCV pMDT ODN) which provides approval for antiviral treatments using Direct Acting Antiviral therapies (DAA) for the treatment of HCV infection for children and young people ≥ 3-18 years of age. The HCV pMDT ODN established in April 2021 requires a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure they remain quorate during patient reviews and that nursing representation is available.

The postholder will work in partnership with the National HCV pMDT ODN Clinical Lead, HCV pMDT ODN Co-ordinator, HCV pMDT ODN Project Manager, HCV pMDT ODN Health and Social Welfare Practitioner, National HCV pMDT ODN steering committee and other external national agencies as an advisory resource.
The postholder will work with the National HCV pMDT ODN to advocate for children and young people’s treatment therapies. The role also includes providing specialist paediatric nursing support for specific national projects collaborating with the National HCV pMDT ODN such as the UKHSA Tracking Project and Gilead HCV Pilot Project working with HMP women services.
The postholder will work within the infrastructure of the WMCN at BWC adhering to local policies, procedures and national professional bodies.
