This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the community midwifery team at Birmingham Women's Hospital, covering South Birmingham. We are looking for knowledgeable and passionate professionals, to support women and families throughout their pregnancy and postnatal journey, who meet the criteria for additional and complex needs. This post is a fixed term 12 month post, with service evaluation after 12 months, with aim to review for possible extension. Main duties of the job
Opportunities to gain further development/qualifications and career progression.
A flexible working approach for you to establish with the women in your care.
Multi-disciplinary team working. Working very closely with the safeguarding team to identify women at most need.
Special interest groups we have team members supporting specifically with equality and diversity, safeguarding, auditing, breastfeeding, antenatal education, infection control and more.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Foundation degree or equivalent level 5 study Mathematics and English level 2/GCSE grade 4 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Level 3 counseling course or equivalent, or counselling experience
- Mentoring or line managers course or experience
Personal skills/attributes
Essential criteria
- Able to manage own workload and time
- Ability to work under pressure
- Team member
- Prioritise and effectively time manage clinical and other responsibilities
- Punctual and flexible across hours of work when required
- Excellent attendance record
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Specialist knowledge and experience working with the families with complex needs
- Experience working with families in need
- Knowledge of the Social Services and benefits systems to enable assisting families through benefits applications.
Analytical
Essential criteria
- Able to make judgements and decisions of straightforward, or a range of situations, complex or highly complex of facts or situations and make some analysis
Professional
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of safe guarding procedures
- Able to use microsoft IT and email
- Competent in the use of IT and NHS systems and programmes
- Able to document in the Electronic and written patient records

- Demonstrate an understanding of the practices of equality and inclusion in the delivery of this role
- Demonstrate alignment with the values and beliefs of the Trust
- Physical: Hand eye co-ordination required Must be physically mobile, good health and attendance able to drive and must be a car owner for attendance of community work Able to attend families in their own home situation, clinics and hospital situations
