Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Locum Obstetric Consultant.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious team at our Birmingham Women’s Hospital site which births over 7.600 women per year. This is maternity cover Locum Consultant post and we are looking for someone who is Ambitious, Brave and Compassionate and with a commitment to continually improve our services, which have just been rated green by the CQC.
Main duties of the job
This postholder will be part of the Obstetric service, working closely with colleagues in the direct team.
This post is advertised as a full-time role, however applicants wishing to be considered for a position with fewer sessions are welcome to apply. The post holder is required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice medicine at this level. Essential and Desirable
Essential criteria
- • Full GMC registration
- • MRCOG or appropriate specialist registration
- • Relevant CCT or equivalent (‘equivalence’ must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
- • Completion of Labour Ward ATSM
- • Experience of supervising junior staff
Desirable criteria
- • Further higher degree
- • Completion (or within 6 months of completion) of obstetric medicine ATSM or subspecialty training in maternal and fetal medicine
- • Evidence of management and administration experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
