Job overview

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic safety professional . You will have excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to work autonomously as well as well as being an effective team member. 

The Health, Safety and Security Manager is responsible for the design and continuous improvement of systems which help the Trust and its’ managers maintain compliance with Health and Safety legislation and with the national agenda for risk management within the NHS.

You need to be a graduate or have a professional qualification, with a recognized qualification in Health and Safety. Qualifications will be supported by in-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience in a Health and Safety, governance or risk management role. 

Main duties of the job

 

·        Monitor compliance with current health and safety legislation through routine inspections of Trust buildings, facilities, and equipment. 

·        Undertake detailed, specialist corporate risk assessments.

·        Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk reduction plans and provide appropriate advice to managers on further actions that might be required.

·        Investigate incidents and analyse incident data to identify causes, trends and mitigating actions.

·        Liaise with external agencies in response to incidents and enforcement action.

·        Develop, implement and audit Trust health and safety policies, ensuring effectiveness and compliance to current legislation and national healthcare priorities.

·        Design and deliver guidance and training to Trust managers to ensure they are competent to meet their duties.
