A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Birmingham Women's Hospital for a Service Manager to join the team. The post offered is a substantive post primarily working in our Fertility Centre but also across gynaecology services within the Division.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • The post holder will support the division in leading and managing the performance of the clinical specialties in the delivery of planned service capacity through the effective use of resources.
  • To manage the performance of the clinical specialties against local and national qualitative and quantitative service targets and within the Trust’s financial allocations.
  • To lead and manage the assessment of complex operational issues and challenges facing the Directorate.  This will demand high levels of judgment, analysis and interaction to agree clear solutions and recommendations that the post holder will be responsible for implementing.
  • To provide effective and innovative leadership and management, ensuring clear direction concerning service improvement and effective utilisation of resources.

Experience, Skills and Specialist Knowledge

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant managerial experience. including line management
  • Knowledge of NHS direction and policy initiatives.
  • Proven change management skills in a complex health care setting.
  • Experience in budgetary and resource management.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in Risk Management and Governance issues
  • Experience in managing complex organisational change projects
  • Experience in managing NHS patient waiting lists

  • Experience in capacity and service planning within an acute health care setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Gynaecology and Fertility services
  • Familiarity with IT based management & clinical information systems.
