Essential criteria

Registered Nurse (RSCN, RMN, RNLD), Therapist or Occupational Therapist (must be accredited e.g. HCPC), registered social worker
Experience of assessing the mental health needs of children/young people in a community or inpatient setting
Good communication skills in range of contexts;
Understanding of normal stages of child development
Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and understanding of Right Time Right Service Framework
Knowledge and skills of assessing child, young people/adults mental health needs.
Experience of report writing and communicating with other professionals
Willingness to participate in further training
Knowledge of Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding policy and procedures
Knowledge of relevant legislation and key policy documents in the field of child mental health.
Good skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work within teams.
Ability to be flexible
Self-motivating and able to work on own initiative.
Reliable and organised
Ability to work with others
Ability to communicate well and to form positive working relationships with professionals at all levels
Full driving license
Access to a vehicle on a daily basis

Desirable criteria

Experience within community mental health
Experience within education/social care
Direct experience working with children and parents or carers in a Health, Educational or Social care setting. Relevant experience within a VCS setting would also be considered
Working directly with vulnerable children, parents and carers and a wide range of professionals
Knowledge and skills of completing brief mental health interventions with children and young people.
Experience in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
Experience in providing Training to other professional and non-professional groups.
Knowledge of the roles of the various professionals within statutory organisations
Experience of working with children and families from BAME communities.
Experience of working within complex organisations / systems
Knowledge of needs or mental health issues of the diverse populations within Birmingham
Ability to participate in Research and Development.

This offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the dietetic education at the University of Nottingham and would be suitable for candidates with prior experience in higher education or practicing Dietitians who wish to embark on such a career. Applications are particularly welcome from those who have recent experience of working in public health or associated areas.

The post is based within the Division of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics in the School of Biosciences. The School offers a four-year integrated undergraduate Master’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition (MNutr) leading to eligibility to apply for registration in dietetics with the Health and Care Professions Council. The Division also delivers other Nutrition-related degrees, including a three-year BSc degree in Nutrition, which has been accredited by the Association for Nutrition, and a BSc in Food Sciences and Nutrition. In addition, we also offer a MSc in Clinical Nutrition, as well as MSc in Nutritional Sciences.

The successful candidate will be expected to predominantly contribute to the teaching and related administration of a number of modules within the programmes associated with our dietetics associated degrees, but they will also make contributions to our nutrition-related degrees.

Current registration as a Dietitian in the UK (or be eligible for such registration) is an essential requirement for the role. A postgraduate qualification in teaching (or equivalent) and/or a higher degree (PhD or Masters) in dietetics or healthcare management are desirable.

This is a full time (36.25 hours), permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist or Psychological Therapist

We are excited to offer this opportunity to work as a Skylight Psychologist in our West London service based in Brent. Working as part of a wider team of Clinical Psychologists in Crisis you will be an integral part of the local Skylight team, leading on psychologically informed practice and delivery of psychological services.

This role brings a real opportunity to be creative and flexible in our approach to working psychologically with people who face multiple disadvantages, and to support the staff teams via training and reflective practice. There are opportunities to provide direct support as well as working extensively with local teams and other parts of the organisation to influence policy and practice developments.

We are looking for someone with post qualification experience of working within complex systems and you may have direct experience of working with people who experience homelessness. As we have grown as a service, the team is also able to support more newly qualified Psychologists via our preceptorship program, and so we are pleased to also offer this as a development post.
