Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist - West Perinatal Community Team

We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Team. You will work alongside the MDT to provide Occupational Therapy support to a defined caseload.
The West Perinatal Mental Health Team provides a Multi-disciplinary specialised perinatal care to women and their families living within West Birmingham, throughout pregnancy and up to a year post birth. The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will see perinatal services expanding its remit to seeing approximately 10% of the population of births, seeing women for up to 2 years postnatally, expanding its offer to partners of women who have given birth, and providing an increasingly comprehensive range of therapies to women and their families.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
Within the perinatal service, experienced mental health Occupational Therapists complete specialised and profession specific assessments and provide appropriate intervention to support women’s recovery, functioning and adaptation to the role of motherhood. An awareness of sensory approach, moderate to severe mental health concerns would be beneficial. Our Occupational Therapists also work as part of our band 6 team carrying out new assessments and providing care coordination to a defined caseload of women with moderate to severe perinatal mental health problems in a range of settings, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment and robust mental health care planning and safeguarding.

- Evidence of continued training and CPD within the field of mental health

- Specialist knowledge and application of current best practice in OT and mental health/clinical speciality
- Independently mobile and able to travel over a wide national geographical area.
Experience

- Evidence of significant ecperience with Occupational Therapy theory, models, assessments and interventions
- Significant post registration experience working as an Occupational Therapist within mental health setting
- Experience of group work development and facilitation

- Experience of working with families
