Housekeepers – Band 2
Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHC), are looking to recruit Housekeepers, based at Ann Marie Howes, to organise and provide mealtime service for patients.
Shift patterns are available.
You must possess knowledge of Infection control standards, COSHH requirements, Food Safety and Hygiene regulations, and you must possess a Food Hygiene Certificate. You must also have good numeracy and literacy skills, be educated to GCSE level and be interested in:

Main duties of the job
To maintain a high standard of practice and conduct at all times promoting a positive image for the Trust.
To meet and greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner, dealing with non-clinical enquiries and referring on when necessary
To liaise with the Unit Chef in relation to special dietary needs or preferred dietary choices for all Intermediate Care service users.
To maintain control of Ward kitchen tidiness and cleanliness at all times by carrying out all Housekeeping duties in accordance with the National Cleaning Standards.
Liaise with the Kitchen to ensure the provision of specialist foods in order to support individual patient’s needs, such as a high protein or Gluten free meals.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE level of general education
- Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake
- Working knowledge of COSHH
- Working knowledge of infection control, cleaning procedures and standards
Experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a food handling role
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the NHS Better Hospital Food Initiatives
- Knowledge of the NHS Better Hospital Food Initiatives
- Knowledge of: Food Safety Regulations (temp controls) Food Safety Act Food Hygiene Regulations
- Good customer care skills
- Able to work within a team, use own initiative and work without direct supervision
