The post holder will develop an excellent working relationship with all members of the Estates Maintenance Department as well as all clinical and non-clinical team leads. They will be responsible in the setting up of regular meetings with ward and service leads, to receive feedback and issue updates on reactive works. The purpose is to implement continuous quality improvement plans (CQI’s) to improve estates services, strategies and compliance.

Support the Estates Maintenance team with a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks, and provide weekly reports to Fabric Manager on SLA and KPI compliance.

Provide monthly reports on SLA and KPI compliance to inform Monthly Operational meeting.

Supervise Minor Works activities, ensuring that all operatives are working safely, effectively and productively.

Support the management of the relationship between the estates team and multiple suppliers and contractors.

Planning and organisation of complex activates or programmes, specifically plan and organise minor works, maintenance activities, liaising with estates staff, service users and contractors to ensure cost effective outcomes. Ensuring allocated work is undertaken and followed through to completion of satisfaction of the service user.

Analyse, evaluate and use judgement to provide mitigation of potential risks by leading contingency planning especially where critical services might be effected by the works.

We are one of the largest general hospital foundation Trusts in the country, serving a population of more than 500,000 people, and the main provider of acute and specialist care services for West Berkshire.

We are also the region's specialist centre for cancer, eye and renal care, serving over one million people across Berkshire and south Oxfordshire. 
Our main site is the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The Trust also provides services at West Berkshire Community Hospital near Newbury, the Prince Charles Eye Unit and Renal Unit in Windsor, outpatient services at Townlands Hospital in Henley and cancer and renal services Royal Berkshire Bracknell Clinic.

The Trust’s aim is to deliver high quality care by putting patient care first. The Estates team support this by providing an excellent estates maintenance and service operation.

Provide weekly reports to Fabric Manager on SLA and KPI compliance.
Provide monthly reports on SLA and KPI compliance to inform Monthly Operational meeting.

The post holder will assist with managing sub-contractors carrying out repairs, refurbishments and remedial works.

Required to travel to other sites such as, Bracknell, Windsor and Harbourne.

Supervise Minor Works activities, ensuring that all operatives are working safely, effectively and productively.

Support the management of the relationship between the estates team and multiple suppliers and contractors.

Planning and organisation of complex activates or programmes, specifically plan and organise minor works, maintenance activities, liaising with estates staff, service users and contractors to ensure cost effective outcomes.

Ensuring allocated work is undertaken and followed through to completion of satisfaction of the service user.

Analyse, evaluate and use judgement to provide mitigation of potential risks by leading contingency planning especially where critical services might be effected by the works.

Responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the CAFM system including Micad to support maintenance operations, e.g., creating and maintaining records of progress for reactive and planned preventative maintenance tasks and plans related to the in-house fabric team.

Deal with telephone queries on behalf of the department, escalating urgent and/or confidential communications to the appropriate person in a timely manner.

Act as a point of escalation for the internal team on how to best respond to complex queries from stakeholders.

Develop and maintain effective electronic and paper filing systems to ensure that information is kept securely and is accessible to all members of the team whilst meeting all statutory, regulatory, and mandatory requirements.

Working in conjunction with the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Department (EPRR), lead on the implementation of all arrangements for monthly generator tests and the annual Black Building generator test (support delivery of works in and out of hours).

Support the wider team with advice and guidance, to ensure continuity of clinical services, minimising downtime.

Responsible for the co-ordination of fabric maintenance reactive and extra works ensuring business continuity.

Participate in scheduled, planned and unplanned electrical outages as a support for Silver command/control for generator switching (operational, not technical). Support delivery of works in and out of hours.

Meet with a range of Trust stakeholders such as non-specialist senior managers, clinicians, charities, landlords & capital project managers to agree interruptions to service(s).

Collate and analyse weekly reports to the Senior Operations Manager and Building Manager for review.

Manage day to day reactive tasks to ensure KPI’s and SLA’s are adhered to for reactive works.

Meet with department leads on a regular basis for walk-round’s and auditing of clinical and non-clinical areas.
