A full time secondment Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse position has been made available for 10 months.
This is an excellent development opportunity for experienced staff nurses.
Applicants would need to provide evidence of the following criteria:
- Significant acute medical nursing experience
- Dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic with a very high standard of clinical practice
- Degree level qualification
- Completed HMU competencies
- Completed or near completion - Critical Care Course
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to manage patient flow and work closely with other teams
Main duties of the job
- Support the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse in leading the team to deliver the objectives of the clinical area.
- Demonstrate excellent personal communication skills across AMU, HMU and wider Trust
- Actively promote excellent team working and MDT relationships.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the clinical area and for a well-maintained environment.
- Co-ordinate and manage patient flow and capacity, ensuing patient safety at all times
- Support mentees and their development
- Actively engage and lead a link champion role

Essential
Essential criteria
- Nursing Degree
- Acute Nursing experience with HMU competencies
- Completed Critical Care course or equivalent

Desirable criteria
- Experience in coordinating, patient flow and safety
