A Monday-Friday working pattern is just one of the attractions of a PWP Co Ordinator role with Talking Therapies. 

We are looking for a qualified B7 PWP Co Ordinator to join our friendly team at locations across East Berkshire - WAM (Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead), Bracknell and Slough. Your base will be London House, Bracknell. 

We are an IAPT (improving access to psychological therapies) service that leads on innovation, boasting a new preceptorship programme for our staff, allowing them to have a clear progression plan and develop in their career with us. A clear example of this is our recent recruitment day where our Senior Support Workers were successful at gaining roles as Trainees Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. 

As a Co Ordinator you will be expected to work closely with the clinical service managers, S2 Co Ordinators and S2 team leads to ensure a seamless service for all clients who access Talking Therapies. The role will focus on supporting the S2 team to develop knowledge, understanding of the S2 service. The along with developing new pathways, supervision structures and community links.  

There will be an opportunity to attend community and promotional events to educate professionals and public on common mental health problems that can be linked and to promote services provided by Talking Therapies. You'll be primarily based at one of our 6 offices but please note where required you will be expected to efficiently travel to other offices/locations

  • Providing high volume low intensity interventions using cognitive behavioural therapy for mild to moderate anxiety and depression 

  • Lead on the development of the step 2 service under the direct guidance of the clinical service lead. 

  • Working closely with the step 3 team leads/clinical service lead to build the interface between step 2 and 3 and ensure a seamless service for clients entering the service 

  • Develop links and care pathways’ for patients 

  • Co-ordinate the step 2 services and team members and will manage capacity within step 2 across East Berkshire.  

  • Case management and line management responsibility for the PWP team alongside the Band 6 team leads.   

  • Opportunities to support those with long term health conditions and those with employment issues alongside our fantastic employment support team

Education/Qualifications/Training

  • Post graduate certificate in evidence based psychological treatments (NHS Talking Therapies pathways)
  • OR Post graduate certificate involving mental health and primary care
  • OR CBT training with extensive experience in primary care
  • LTC trained
  • Supervisor trained

  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy
  • Psychology degree

Continuous Professional Development

Previous Experience

  • Have 2 years NHS Talking Therapies management experience.
  • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication
  • Able to write clear reports and letters.
  • Evidence of delivering supervision

  • Evidence of working within a service development role and the ability to co-ordinate across the service
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Evidence of working in the local community
  • Previous line management experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care

  • Received training (either formal of through  experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
