Job overview

The Healthcare Contracting Team manages a range of income and expenditure contracts with external providers and commissioners of Healthcare Services.  Due to a department restructure and expansion, we currently have a number of vacancies within the team

If you have a background in contract management, are well organised and want to make a difference for patients, then we can offer you the opportunity to enhance your existing skills by working as part of our dynamic team.

To succeed, you will need to be enthusiastic, proactive, have an attention to detail and have a desire to improve the Health of our local population.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join our small but well established team to manage a range of contracts with Healthcare Providers both in the Community and in our hospitals.

 We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual, with strong communication skills, with experience of working with providers of externally commissioned and provider services, preferably within the NHS.

 The ability to work in a face pace and ever changing environment is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a Team and develop effective relationships with colleagues across a range of professional boundaries, including clinicians and partner organisations is essential.  

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and / or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • A technical professional qualification at Degree level or proven equivalent experience to work at this level within finance or contracting
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience of service change in a complex environment, managing conflict appropriately.
  • Experience of effective engagement and negotiation with a range of individuals and organisation.
  • Experience of working with the External Provider / Commissioner market.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of budget management
  • Experience of operating in formal partnership environments e.g. Local Authority / Trade Associations
