Advanced Specialist Podiatrist in MSK

NHS AfC: Band 7

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust believes in fairness, equity and above all values diversity in all aspects of its work, as a provider of health services and as an employer of people. We provide visa sponsorship to applicant who require a visa to work in the UK, providing the role you’ve been recruited to meets the requirements set by the Home Office.

From 4 April 2024 overseas workers requiring a general Skilled Worker Visa (such as data analysts, IT and finance professionals, etc) but sponsored by an NHS organisation will need to meet the new salary threshold of £38,700. In addition, applications to the Health and Care Visa route for those occupations paid by NHS bands that are on the immigration salary, a list of skilled jobs which have lower salary requirements, will need to meet the national pay scale for their role or the new minimum salary threshold of £23,200 (whichever is higher). We advise that you check that the role you wish to apply for meets the requirement for sponsorship before applying.

Job overview

Join us in the beautiful county of Shropshire where we are looking for a dynamic and proactive Podiatrist, specialising in musculoskeletal conditions (MSK), to join our Podiatry Team. As part of this role you will be specialising in MSK Podiatry within the Musculoskeletal Services Shropshire and Telford (MSST).  This service offers specialist multi-disciplinary team assessments and management to patients who suffer from musculoskeletal health problems that don't require hospital treatment.

You must be a UK-registered Podiatrist to apply, with a range of MSK experience ideally within an NHS MSK setting.  As part of this role, you will also maintain your podiatric skills across our caseload utilising your MSK skills to support management of the high-risk foot.

If you are passionate about making a difference and want to contribute to an organisation which is continuously striving to improve then we would love to hear from you.

What We Offer:
- Exposure to a varied caseload that will enhance your podiatric       management skills.
- Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
- A supportive environment that encourages reflective practice and continuous learning.
- A chance to contribute to a team committed to providing outstanding healthcare services.

You will be required to travel as part of this role as clinics are delivered across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

Main duties of the job

Your main role will be within the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Musculoskeletal Service  (MSST) at their Telford or Shrewsbury Site, along with supporting the community team which covers Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Therefore ability to drive is essential for this role.

You will provide specialist MSK assessment, intervention and advice as well as contributing to the MSST and Community Podiatry clinical triage.

You will be mentored by an Advanced Practice  Podiatrist who works across MSK and community podiatry.  The MSST service is an Orthopaedic triage service providing access for  onward referral to other clinicians within the pathway including Physiotherapists, GPwERs, pain management, Orthopaedics, X-Ray etc.  Clinic locations within both Telford & Shrewsbury are dedicated to providing MSST services and you will be in daily contact with various clinicians within the team.
