Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative Registered Nurse to join the East IHC Primary Care Team as a Practice Development Nurse.
We are seeking a highly skilled, knowledgeable and dynamic nurse who has extensive clinical experience across primary care services. As our practice development nurse you will be passionate about delivering high quality care across Wrexham and Flintshire.
Effective management, communication and leadership skills are essential for this role and the post holder must be adaptable to service needs and demonstrate initiative. The post holder must possess a proactive approach to improving standards of practice, education and skills across services.
Main duties of the job
This role will have a focus on our primary care services which include nurses and support workers caring for people who have physical and mental health related conditions. There will also be opportunities to deliver training and support staff across our localities as we work towards building skills and closer/integrated working between our services.
The post holder will take an active role in clinical nursing education across our services. The post holder will work with others and support research and evaluation in line with BCUHB policies to improve quality and clinical effectiveness of nursing strategies. They will contribute to the clinical governance agenda by promoting evidence based and supportive care to our health communities.
Post holder will exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy, have an ability to reach complex and critical judgements and have decision making skills to satisfy the expectations and demands of the job.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Knowledge and experience of NHS Funded Nursing Care arrangements and NHS Continuing Health Care within relevant field. Evidence of involvement in audit and service development.
