The Healthcare Contracting Team manages a range of income and expenditure contracts with external providers and commissioners of Healthcare Services. Due to a department restructure and expansion, we currently have a number of vacancies within the team

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join our small but well established team to manage all financial aspects of the healthcare income and expenditure contracts.
We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual, with strong communication skills, with experience of working with providers of externally commissioned services, preferably within the NHS.
The ability to work in a face pace and ever changing environment is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work and develop effective relationships with colleagues across a range of professional boundaries, including clinicians and partner organisations is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across the whole organisation including management of the NHS commissioner contracts, contribution to the development of pricing and activity mechanisms across all services, the advancement of systems for recording, monitoring and reporting contractual performance and the liaison and negotiation with Providers.
The post-holder will work with the Principal Finance Manager and Divisional Business Managers to ensure clinical and divisional leadership in the contracting process and ensure clear alignment with associated areas including patient services, finance, information and quality. They will provide specialist knowledge and guidance on a wide range of highly complex financial, performance and quality issues including to consultants and other clinicians and Divisional Directors.
Ensures all financial information in relation to Health Board External contracts is processed in accordance with Statutory and legal accounting policies and guidelines, and in line with deadlines and timescales, through completion of own work and the management of the work of the other team members and subordinates.
Key relationships include Health Board Operational Managers and Clinicians and external Providers and Commissioners.

Qualifications and / or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Fully qualified accountant member of the CCAB professional institute, or proven equivalent knowledge and experience,
- Proven working at Masters Level or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience of working in a senior Finance position in a large organisation.
- Extensive experience of data manipulation, investigation and analysis.
- Experience of implementing and working NHS Contracts controls,
- Extensive experience of dealing with external organisations and managing SLA’s and contracts.
- Experience of managing projects and tasks over a long delivery or implementation period.
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to analyse and communicate highly complex information effectively at all levels within the organisation and also to external bodies.
- Ability to analyse performance through a variety of techniques e.g. benchmarking
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Extensive and detailed knowledge and understanding of management accountancy and NHS Finance
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Clinical coding including ICD10, OPCS 4 and HRG 4
Desirable criteria
- Ability to communicate effectively in Welsh and English
- Advanced spreadsheet and database designing skills
