About You

You are a compassionate and experienced MRI Radiographer with a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care. With a minimum of 2 years’ MRI experience, you excel in performing diverse examinations while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. Holding a Radiography degree (or equivalent) and HCPC registration, you combine technical expertise with a strong understanding of MRI physics and patient-focused care.

Flexible and adaptable, you will work across multiple sites, including Wimpole Clinic, Dover Clinic, and 75 Harley Street Clinic. A team player, you mentor junior staff and actively engage in professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care and Imaging Procedures

  • Perform MRI imaging in line with modality-specific guidelines, best practices, and legal standards (IRR 2017, IRMER 2017, CQC, SOR, RCR)
  • Conduct MRI safety checks, obtain informed consent, and ensure patient suitability
  • Administer contrast media under the PGDs and guidance of consultant radiologists and maintain accurate records
  • Provide empathetic and patient-focused care, especially for those experiencing distress or anxiety

Operational and Compliance Standards

  • Ensure safe use and maintenance of MRI and clinical equipment in adherence to local safety protocols
  • Participate in quality assurance checks, health and safety audits, and infection control audits
  • Accurately maintain records on Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archive (PACS) systems
  • Comply with CQC and GDPR standards, reporting incidents as per policy and guidance

Collaboration and Team Leadership

  • Liaise with consultant radiologists and clinicians to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Mentor and support junior staff, participating in training and CPD
  • Contribute to the induction of new team members and attend mandatory training sessions

Professional Development

  • Maintain and update CPD records to ensure skills remain current
  • Stay informed on advancements in MRI technology and imaging practices
  • Engage in improvement projects and adopt new service enhancements
  • Attend team meetings and training

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRI, covering diverse examinations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong knowledge of MRI physics and sequence parameter manipulation
  • Awareness of Health and Safety, Infection Control, and Clinical Governance
  • Ability to reassure patients experiencing distress

Note: This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings and bank holidays supporting our extended operating hours (Mon-Fri 8am–11pm, Sat 8am–10pm, Sun 8am–8pm).
