Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective management and delivery of a combination of key functions and policy areas with including;
- Lead on the management of operations of the PFD (Reg 28) tracker including logging, commissioning, drafting of responses and supporting the organisation and management of the R28 working group and assisting in thematic analysis of topic areas.
- Lead on defined quality strategy projects and briefing as defined by line management.
- Supporting in the delivery of key national boards and committees and the operations of the internal quality governance framework including planning and secretariat functions.
- Leading on the publication process for national clinical audits, of around 100 publications a year including stakeholder engagement, reviewing content developed by subject matter media colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the administrative and financial tasks associated with managing the national contract for clinical audits, including financial management, business case development, procurement and contracting processes.
- Supporting the supporting the wider business needs of the team and leading on defined corporate and business support functions.

Essential criteria
- Practical experience of undertaking audits or outcome review programmes in NHS or Independent Sector settings including quality improvement and incorporating people with lived experience into programmes. Audit experience in NHS hospital setting preferable. Experience and understanding of the NICE development process for NICE Clinical Guidance and Quality Standards and how NHSE engages in the development, commissioning and prioritisation process.
- Experience of commissioning in a complex provider landscape (charities, NHS, University’s, Royal Colleges, Specialist Societies).
- Practical experience of applying processes associated with Patient Identifiable Data including National Data Opt-Out, Local Opt-Outs, Developing Directions, Data Controller, Processor Agreements, liaising with Confidential Advisory Group as appropriate.
- Working autonomously managing the publication process of around 100 publications a year. This requires high level stakeholder engagement skills, reviewing specialist content developed by SME, editing briefings, an eye for detail, ability to confidently liaise with CEO’s, clinical leads, subject matter experts, media colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Experience of financial management with multiple providers, 40 plus work streams, different VAT status, different contract lengths, developing a coherent financial plan, working to a single NHSE control value.
