We are looking for staff to join our Band 3 Bank which covers all hospitals and communities within the west area of BCUHB within both the physical and mental health fields.
Main duties of the job
The Occupational Therapy service within the West Integrated Health Community provides a service to adults and children across acute, community and primary care settings (physical and mental health). Bank opportunities are therefore varied, and the type of work offered to successful applicants will be dependent on the needs of the service at the time.
As an Occupational Therapy support worker, you will work under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists to provide a holistic and person centred service to patients. This may include patient facing tasks, administrative tasks and other tasks to support the day to day running of the departments.
The post provides an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapy students, or those interested in Occupational Therapy as a career, to develop their knowledge and skills within a supportive clinical environment, and provides an excellent opportunity for networking locally.
Good communication and organisational skills are essential along with the ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and / or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3
Experience
Essential criteria
- Understanding of the role of occupational therapy.
- Relevant experience working within health, social care
- Basic knowledge of some conditions relevant to the clinical area and the effects of illness on function
Aptitude and Ability
Essential criteria
- Ability to work independently with individuals
- Ability to travel across sites to work and to carry out clinical tasks
Desirable criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh
