Job overview
Sirona care and health has an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced individual to join the Safeguarding Single Point of Access (SPA) team as a Band 6 Safeguarding Nurse. The SPA team operate like a front door for all safeguarding strategy requests raised to Sirona by agency partners. The team work predominantly 09.00 – 17:00 and cover the entire BNSSG area.
You will use an agreed delegated framework to ensure that children's needs are prioritised and represented by the right health professional within the strategy discussion pathway.
Main duties of the job
As a nurse within the Single Point of Access (SPA) team, you will be responsible for collecting , collating and analysing health information for strategy discussion, attending strategy discussion as a health representative. Contributing to the threshold decision making and immediate safety planning for children. You will work closing with the community paediatric team, local safeguarding partnerships, the police, education and multiagency contributors to strategy discussions. You will be central to information sharing to safeguard children.

Experience of safeguarding
Essential criteria
- Registered Sick Children’s Nurse / Registered General Nurse / Midwife / School Health Nurse
- Educated to degree level.
- Evidence of experience of assessing and teaching.
- Evidence of continuing professional development related to child protection through attendance at short courses.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure.
- Car owner / driver: ability to travel in a timely fashion across BNSSG
- Ability to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable criteria
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
- Experience of using EMIS
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience within a role with a safeguarding focus
- Significant experience of dealing with highly sensitive information
Desirable criteria
- Recent level 3 safeguarding training

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
