Job overview
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Property Manager on a full time, permanent basis. The post will be based at Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham.
Main duties of the job
The post will be responsible for ensuring value for money, well-utilised leased accommodation for both clinical and administrative services as well as seek opportunities to maximise revenue income where possible whilst maintaining accurate occupation records. With experience in Property management preferably with some commercial landlord experience or has previously rationalised their Estate, identifying direct cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
The post holder will have responsibility for property management of the Trust's freehold estate and occupation of leasehold premises.
The post holder will have responsibility for Management of legal aspects of property occupation agreements. Lead the Trusts property management service including landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions and granting of occupancy arrangements, rent assessment and reviews, service charge oversight, and asset valuation.
Provide expert advice to the Trust regarding property-related matters, including acquisition and disposals, estates utilisation, value for money and options appraisals.

- Possession of a relevant professional qualification to degree/graduate level. Corporate Membership of a professional body: I. Eng CIBSE, IEE, 1 Mech E, RICS, CIOB, CBAT, or similar approved.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Expert knowledge of land and property legal transactions. • Experience of landlord and tenant legal issues, leases, and licences, rent assessment and reviews. • High degree of numeracy, experience in information handling and Information Technology Skills.

- Knowledge • Experience working in an NHS environment. • Conversant with the NHS Estates Capital investment manual. • Health & Safety in construction management. • Experience of collecting information for NHS Improvement and Estates Returns Information Collection (ERIC).
