Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the  living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until  the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed

 

Job overview

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service. 

A Secondment  has arisen in Bryn Hesketh Unit for a temporary Band 7 Ward Manager working 37.5 hours per week on a 13 bedded Older Peoples’ Mental Health Ward.

The Post holder will be required to give leadership and guidance to other team members both registered and unregistered in the assessment planning and implementation of delivering high standards of nursing care.

The post holder will be part of a busy Older Persons’ Mental Health Unit. The ward manager will have a key role in leading the development of an Acute Older Persons’ Mental Health Inpatient Service Model and will also have a leading role in the redevelopment of the Unit and its grounds.

Main duties of the job

Are you passionate about patient care and professional nursing standards and able to demonstrate the values and leadership qualities of an excellent nurse leader and role model?

The post holder will have continuing responsibility for the operational management of the ward, the service delivery of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care, medicines management and budget management.  The post holder will line manage ward staff and ensure that all discipline appropriate and other core and essential training is completed.

We are looking for a highly visible and engaging Ward Manager to work within the Inpatient Unit who is dedicated to ensuring that the services we provide meet the expectations of the population that we serve.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
