West Integrated Health Community are very excited to advertise the role of Community Matron . The successful post holder will provide clear leadership and clinical expertise in the management of the Arfon & Mon  Community Nursing Service. We are looking for a senior nurse leader with a strong clinical presence, leading and developing successful, safe and compassionate teams

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative Registered Nurse to join the team of Nurse Leaders within the West Integrated Health Community

The post holder will play a key role in achieving and maintaining the highest standards and quality of clinical care within the  District Nursing services in the Arfon & Mon localities.

The post holder will manage nursing staff and be accountable to the Area Deputy Head of Nursing for all aspects of the quality of services delivered within their area of authority.

They will maintain a visible professional presence where patients, carers and staff can turn for assistance, advice and support.

They will lead and participate in projects and areas of work, which will reflect clinical, professional and cooperate objectives.

The successful candidate will have experience in the management of community services, staffing teams, budget, responsibility and leadership.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in nursing or health related subject or working towards with completion in three years
  • Significant relevant experience in a managerial post
  • Teaching / assessing qualification or experience
  • Track record of significant continuous professional and management development
  • Leadership training or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of managing and leading a broad range of staff
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience in improving quality for patient staff and service
Desirable criteria
  • Meets all desirable criteria as per attached job description/person specification

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them
  • Ability to think and plan tactically and creatively and to priorities work programs in the face of competing demands
  • A strong sense of personal and team accountability coupled to a clear understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority
  • A good understanding of the changing NHS environment
