Sirona Single Point of Access (SPA) is looking for an Assistant Service Manager, someone who can share its vision "to drive equitable Patient Centred health care to adults within the BNSSG community by providing knowledgeable, efficient, compassionate and respectful remote advice and support.". 

We are looking for a partner to support us in continuing to change the way we work to meet new demands. Within this role there will be opportunities to develop your leadership skills, share your knowledge and passion for service development and continuous quality improvement, whilst also having opportunity to help shape and develop the service and your role within. 

This role will be key to maintaining and improving the performance of the SPA and the resultant impact on the organisation as a whole. You will be required to lead by example to gain the best from services and staff, ensuring they are supported to remain engaged, positively challenged and effective.

SPA is a fast paced and dynamic environment operating between 0730 and 2000, 7 days a week.  The service is comprised of a Clinical Team with a diverse multidisciplinary background working alongside a large group of Heath Navigators who provide frontline advice and routing of service users accessing SPA.  As a service we embrace hybrid working coupled with flexible working patterns and the use of digital innovation to deliver and improve the service. 

Main duties of the job

The Post Holder is expected to;

·        Provide inspiring and innovative leadership that supports the implementation and development of high quality integrated person-centred care which respects and responds to the needs of service users and their carers.

·         Integral to the role is representing Sirona by working in partnership with other BNSSG providers.  There is a requirement to attend system wide meetings representing the SPA delivery and the occasional requirement to deputise for strategic leads across the organisation as a service expert.

·         You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality, safe and cost-effective provision of services provided by the Single Point of Access.

·         Review and revise professional and performance targets that help improve service user outcomes.  Help provide an environment that enables staff to achieve the targets identified.

·         Work with the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, system partners and stakeholders to support further development of care pathways, promote integrated working, maximise opportunities to facilitate patient discharge and support admission avoidance.

·         Prepare information and reports, making presentations at a variety of levels including to the board, colleagues, professional groups, service users and staff and to those in partner organisations.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification in health care and current registration.
  • Comprehensive training in professional and management procedures within own area and across several related disciplines relevant to the service area.
Desirable criteria
  • Recognised post graduate management / leadership qualification, working towards one or willingness to undertake.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Specialist knowledge in more than one field and good understanding of several related disciplines.
  • Previous experience working in a Health and Social Care Community setting and/or other relevant multi-disciplinary environment of a similar size and complexity.
  • Experience in managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams and at multi-site locations
  • Able to demonstrate leadership skills, credibility and integrity and ability to manage through change.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with ability to make informed decisions whilst considering wider organisational impacts.
  • Evidence of ability to resolve complex issues within service, including with staff implications using sound logic and taking into consideration relevant business implications.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of undertaking service reviews and redesign.
