Job overview

Join our team and become part of the future of the NHS

Services like NHS@Home (our innovative virtual ward model) combine the latest innovation and technology with holistic, person-centered and face to face treatments to offer an alternative to hospital for people who are acutely unwell across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

“Knowing I was being discharged into the NHS@Home service made the world of difference to me…I also recovered more quickly because I was able to get more rest in my own bed” NL, service user

The service is run in partnership between Sirona, North Bristol Trust, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston Trust and BrisDoc. This collaborative model of clinical delivery has been nationally recognised as leading how integration can work to meet the needs of local populations.

The Associate Director role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician and senior manager to join our integrated management team model, to lead the next phase of the service’s development. Working collaboratively with partners, this role also has a unique opportunity to help shape the future of wider Urgent and Emergency Care Services within Sirona and across the system.

We’re seeking an ambitious, innovative, and collaborative leader who is passionate about high quality care to join us on this journey. If you’re enthused by transformation, have the drive and determination to succeed and are looking to further your career, we’d love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The role has shared accountability for the operational performance and strategic development of the integrated NHS @home model across the provider organisations, working in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Teams from each. This includes accountability for high quality patient care, patient safety, clinical quality and governance, the delivery of agreed performance and financial objectives, and ensuring that NHS @home operates with the needs of patients as its highest priority.

You will work in conjunction with the NHS @home Clinical Director, providing senior leadership and strategic direction, ensuring delivery of the quality, governance, performance and transformation agendas and representing NHS @home at both internal and external meetings, including regional and national. You will provide strategic leadership to strengthen interfaces between NHS @Home and other urgent and emergency care pathways.

You will be accountable for the direct delivery of non-medical professional clinical services within NHS@Home and will provide the vision and support alongside the Clinical Director in ensuring the development of these services to meet the current and future requirements within NHS@Home.

You will be a key member of NHS@home senior management team and be accountable for implementing and maintaining clinical governance and risk management, including evidence of compliance with the Care Quality Commission regulations. You will be the registered CQC manager for the service.
