The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self motivated, experienced medical secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial and admin support within the Surgical Directorate. It is essential that applicants possess a high level of audio typing skills, hold Medical Secretarial Qualification and are qualified to a minimum of RSA Stage 2 (or equivalent).
The successful applicant will need to be flexible and be able to work on their own initiative and be able to work as part of a team. The post holder will be able to work within time constraints and be able to meet deadline whilst being able to demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to maintain good and reliable records.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a team the post holder will be required to provide an efficient and effective secretarial service to the team, supporting the delivery of a high quality service to patients and staff.
Applicants must be extremely flexible to meet the needs of the service, have a pleasant personality and a positive approach to their work. Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills.
Sufficient medical secretarial experience and knowledge of the Patient Administration System (WPAS) is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
