Job overview

This post is fixed term / secondment for 9 months due to Secondment Cover.

If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

ICT are currently looking to appoint an experienced, highly self-motivated and enthusiastic Cyber Security & Compliance Officer.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within a large organisation with a complex ICT Infrastructure.  The organisation is         spread over a substantial geographical area covering 130 sites with 15,000 end user devices.  The increasing digitisation of Health and the security challenges it brings mean this is an interesting and varied role with plenty of challenge and opportunity to develop.

You may be required, at times, to work outside of standard working hours. You will be required to demonstrate professionalism, and keep up to date with legislation and national policies, as well as assessing security advisories from third parties.

The post holder may be asked to work across all BCUHB sites and locations, therefore the ability to access transport (public and/or private) to travel off site is essential.

Main duties of the job

As a senior member of the Cyber Security Team at BCUHB you will undertake vulnerability scanning, the monitoring of Cyber Security Systems and work with third parties to review compliance with best practice. You may be required to deputise for the Cyber Security and Compliance Manager where appropriate.

You will act as an escalation point for Cyber Security incidents and demonstrate specialist understanding of the Cyber Security landscape to support the Network Operations Centre as well as developing Cyber Security awareness materials for both the ICT team and the organisation.

As well as expert knowledge of Antivirus, Malware, SIEM, Firewall, IPS, Patch Management, the successful candidate will require a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Cyber Security.  The postholder will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and improving security within the Health Board’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring appropriate and proportionate controls are in place in line with industry best practice whilst not impeding the critical work of the organisation.

A working knowledge of the Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018 experience in the implementation and ongoing support of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials+ would be advantageous.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
