Ysbyty Bangor has an exciting opportunity within the Trauma & Orthopaedic team, who are looking for a Band 6 Sister. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has experience of Orthopaedic Trauma and is keen to assist in developing the service for the future. 

This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive leadership approach towards change. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. Managing and controlling the activities of the ward in an effective and efficient manner.

All applicants are expected to keep with new initiatives and interventions within nursing care. The Deputy Ward Manager is expected to continue the running of the ward in the absence of the ward manager.  Providing support with staff appraisals, sickness and training support.

Main duties of the job

SURGICAL DIRECTORATE

1 x BAND 6 SISTER / CHARGE NURSE –  WARD 7 YGC

An opportunity has arisen for x 1 Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse for Ward 7 – Trauma & Orthopaedics.

All applicants must be a Registered Nurse, with recent  experience at Band 5 and meet the Band 6 Job Description person specification. Experience in both pathways is essential for this Senior Nursing post holder.

Post –  37.5 hours per week 

The position involves working as an Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse on  Ogwen Ward, with a Trauma and Orthopaedics speciality

Candidates should be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development and it is essential that the post holder has a good understanding of the dynamics of team work as they will be expected to work closely with multidisciplinary personnel. The post holder must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, leadership, a positive outlook, enthusiasm and the ability to learn and develop new skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
