The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview
The purpose of this post is to provide clinical and managerial support in the development, implementation and co-ordination of high quality patient care within the theatre department and associated areas.
The post holder will have responsibility for a team, and as a proactive Team Leader - using effective communication skills -to be actively involved in changing care plans and goals according to evaluation and review.

Lead a team Theatres ensuring safe and effective care.
Responsible for staff development and effective use of resources.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The purpose of this post is to provide clinical and managerial support to the Theatre Manager in the development, implementation and co-ordination of high-quality patient care within the theatre area.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- NMC/HCPC registration
- Extensive experience in theatre clinical practice
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Practice supervisor/assessor course
- Understanding of NatSsips and LocSsips relating to theatre
Desirable criteria
- Degree in relevant clinical/ professional topic
- Postgraduate study at masters level
- ALS/PLS
- Post graduate management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of experience in management
- Evidence of leadership experience
- Evidence of working with/ facilitating junior staff and student development
- Evidence of advanced clinical knowledge
- Good understanding of issues relating to evaluation of care planning and assessment
- Evidence of resource management
- Experience of staff selection and workforce planning
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of human resources policy
- Experience of undertaking audit/research and setting of standards
