Job overview

We are looking for two innovative and progressive individuals to work as part of the  West IHC Management Accounts finance team. The successful post holders will be qualified with  AAT or will have equivalent experience/qualification. The role requires an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The roles require excellent numerate and strong IT skills to support the West IHC Operational teams with robust, timely and accurate financial information.

Each post will be part of a small finance team that provides a wide range of financial support and advice to either the West Area or Ysbyty Gwynedd Operational teams, which in turn will give the individual experience and knowledge in numerous facets of finance. such as

Understanding budgetary, cost and income control;

How accurate financial data and advice support operational decision making;

Support the services in highlighting financial risks or identifying savings opportunities;

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further their finance career, as well as gaining a wider understanding and experience of the management of NHS services. 

The Finance Department is committed to personal development and training, with the potential for support towards studying for professional Accountancy Qualifications.

After training, a more hybrid way of working may be possible, with some days worked at home & some in the office.

Main duties of the job

Works within the  Management Accounting Finance Team, providing professional assistance and financial advice and support to managers, and undertakes investigation into complex financial variances and analysis, suggesting relevant corrective action to Health Board managers as necessary.

To provide timely, accurate and meaningful financial management information within tight financial time-scales and ensure that work is completed in compliance with Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions, and Scheme of Delegation. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
