Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the  living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until  the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed

 

Job overview

Ward clerk to provide administrative support to the nursing and medical team on CCU (coronary care unit) for acute unwell cardiac patients. 

Applicants must have an extremely flexible approach to work as cover will be required over 5 days a week.  They must have a pleasant personality and a positive approach to their work. Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills. A professional telephone manner is essential to receive and respond courteously to all telephone enquiries regarding patient care.

The ward clerks are an integral part of the ward team and the ward clerk position demands good team working and time management skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

To ensure comprehensive data quality for in patients on CCU.  (coronary care unit).  To support the nursing staff with administrative duties.  Update ward lists.  Deal with telephone calls.  Ensure medical notes are available and filed accordingly.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Maths/English GCSE or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 2 in Administration
  • NVQ in Customer Service
  • ECDL

Experience
