Specialist Network – Service Manager, Forensic Community Band 8a

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Network as a Band 8a Service Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Specialist Network to provide operational leadership cover to Forensic Community Service, Liaison & Diversion (police custody & Courts), Mental Health Treatment Requirement Service, ReConnect – care after custody service, Forensic Autism Service and Offender Personality Disorder Service.

 

Main duties of the job

This is a fantastic opportunity for a leader with operational experience, who is looking to further develop and gain additional leadership experience within the organisation. You will gain knowledge and skills in the operational management of a clinical service that delivers a diverse range of functions, and caters to the need of individuals with a wide range of vulnerabilities. You will be working closely with the wider leadership team to deliver high quality services to the communities served by the Specialist Network. 

The successful candidate will also be expected to cover the on-site manager function based at the Bed Hub, following a rota system with service managers across the Trust

Working hours are Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00 although some flexibility in regard to start and finish times may be required.

Education

Essential criteria
  • Educated to relevant master’s degree or prepared to study towards masters with demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Participation in continuing professional development to improve and update specialist knowledge
  • Hold a professional qualification and registration with an accountable body. This could be nursing, social work, occupational therapy, clinical psychology.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of operational management
  • Detailed understanding and experience of the operation healthcare services and performance targets
  • Experience of managing a budget.

  • Well-developed analytical & problem solving skills
