SWL Maternity and Women’s Health Clinical Lead, 2 sessions/ week (7.5 hours 0.2 WTE)
An opportunity has arisen for a Maternity and Women’s Health clinical lead to join the South West London Integrated Care Board.
The SWL Maternity and Women’s Health Clinical Lead will report to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and be professionally accountable to the Executive Medical Officer (EMO). In this position, the postholder will be responsible for providing strategic direction and clinical leadership on the design and implementation of solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality health and/or care services.
In SWL the ambition is for all women to have safe maternity care which is personalised, kind, professional and family friendly; where every woman has access to information to enable her to make decisions about her care; and where she and her baby can access support that is centred on their individual needs and circumstances so that their whole experience is positive and memorable. In order to realise this ambition, the postholder will provide Clinical Leadership to the Maternity programme to:

· Develop pre-conception care to support families,
· Improve choice, personalised care and continuity of care for all mothers,
· Improve safety, outcomes and experience for mothers and their babies,
· Enhance postnatal care,
· Support maternal medicines networks,
· Enhance learning to improve services.
This post is not limited to maternity and the postholder will be expected to provide Clinical Leadership across a broader range of women’s services liaising with relevant specialisms across the system where clinical expertise is required.
The postholder should be a registered Consultant Obstetrician currently providing health care services to resident patients in NHS services in SWL.

NHS South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB), as part of South West London Integrated Care System (ICS), is a partnership of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people in our six boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
Each ICS consists of two statutory elements:
- an Integrated Care Board, bringing the NHS together with its partners locally to improve health and care services
- an Integrated Care Partnership (ICP): the broad alliance of organisations and representatives concerned with improving the care, health and wellbeing of the population, jointly convened by the ICB and local authorities in the area.
ICBs are statutory NHS bodies responsible for planning and allocating resources to meet the four core purposes of integrated care systems (ICSs):
- to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare;
- tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access;
- enhance productivity and value for money and;
- help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
NHS South West London Integrated Care Board decides how the South West London NHS budget is spent and develops plans to improve people's health, deliver higher quality care, and better value for money.

· Provide clinical leadership, advice and act as a champion within the defined area,

Understand, communicate and support the implementation of clinical policy relating to programme area (including NICE Quality Standards and Outcome Strategies),
Promote a culture of innovation, developing strong partnerships academic and education structures and other key stakeholders

Education / Qualifications
Meini prawf hanfodol
- Accredited Consultant Obstetrician with expertise in the breadth of their specialty
- Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications
- Significant evidence of continued professional development
- Current registration with relevant professional body i.e. GMC, NMC, HCPC, GPhC or equivalent
